In reading today, we read about the effects and what happened after the Revolutionary war.  On September 3,1783 the United States and British Representatives signed the Treaty of Paris.  This treaty ended the American Revolution.  There were many many hardships after the war that we discussed such as farms and ships being destroyed and the economy.  We talked about the constitution and how it still guides our country today. Our comprehension focus is ask and answer questions which we practiced.  Experienced readers ask themselves questions before, during, and after reading to help them reach a deeper understanding of the text.
In math, we started adding decimals.   It is important to know the rule: You MUST line up the decimals and remember you can add ZEROS at the end of a decimals and NOTHING CHANGES (example 3.2=3.20=3.200=3.2000)!

In science, we continued with matter. There are three states of matter, liquid, solid, and gas.  To identify  the three different states, we have to look at their properties.  The properties are shape, volume, and mass. Next time we do science we will identify states of matter using our senses!
For  $50 tomorrow, tell me the three PROPERTIES of matter.......
