Mrs. Umemoto was also in a Tu Tu for Tuesday that Avery had made her!
For reading this morning we discussed our theme question "How were people's ideas changed by historical events in early America?"  and started our story for the week " Buffalo Jump".  We also practiced with our vocabulary words celebrate, courage, and disappointment.  We did some spelling practice to make sure we understand the meaning of our words this week.
For math, we started with multiplying decimals by decimals.  We took notes in our math notebooks and did problems together on white boards.
This afternoon we started our writing project, " Tacky Sweater Fashion Show".  Everyone was put into groups of 3-4 and had to design a sweater.  Then over the next 2 days they will need to write a description and present to the class like an announcer at a fashion show.  Then on Friday everyone will actually get to make their very own tacky sweater to wear on the 21st!
We did some investigation with the properties of matter and then tomorrow morning we will be having a quiz over matter. Here is a look at the quiz:
1. What is matter?
2. What are the three states of matter?
3. Give an example of a solid and tell how you know it is a solid.
4. Give an example of a liquid, and tell how you know it is a liquid.
5. Give an example of a gas, and tell how you know it is a gas.
6. Share two properties that you can observe to describe a desk.
For $50 tomorrow give me a spicy adjective you used to describe your sweater
