Frantic Friday

Happy Frantic (one of our spelling words this week : ) Friday! In library this morning we watched a video political parties while taking notes.  We had a our unit 6 post test and for language we worked on simple and compound subjects and predicates.
* The simple subject of a sentence is whom or what the sentence is about
* The simple predicate of a sentence is the verb that tells what the subject does, is, or has.
*A compound subjects is two or more subjects combined by a conjunction.
* A compound predicate is two or more verbs combined by a conjunction.

We talked about our reading logs today and the expectations for them.  Each day much be filled out with the number of pages, number of minutes, and task for that day.  When it is due there must also be a parent signature after Thursday.  Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are extra credit.  Each day is worth 25 points for a total of 100% and then if you read Friday, Saturday, and Sunday you can get up to a 103%.  We practiced with main idea through playing "I have, who has".   We then read out of our read aloud "Touching Spirit Bear" and discussed.  For math, we took our geometry words and made a flap book with the definitions and examples.

We celebrated Grayson today!  He shared with us his pocket watch, spy binoculars, his favorite book "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" because he loves that series, a seashell from his mom, his night vision goggles, his first recorder, and some pictures from when he went to "Hogwarts Castle" and an aquarium in Florida. Grayson likes to take pictures with his camera, he has an older brother, he has three cats, his favorite colors are black/red/blue, and his favorite food is lasagna.   He are so thankful Grayson is part of our class family!!
