This morning we went over our Halloween puns/riddles from yesterday until Mrs. Neese came in for our guidance lesson. Mrs. Neese talked to us about the effect smoking has on our lungs and smokeless tobacco has on our month. She showed us some models and they were GROSS!! For reading, we discussed Hurricane Sandy, because of technology and science, we were able to know it was coming. It fit in with our focus question for this week, "What happens when scientists make discoveries?". We had great discussion and even looked at some pictures of all the damage. It is SO sad! We discussed other inventions along with possible new inventions. For the last part of the morning we worked on our "Swap" stories, hoping to publish them next week!
Remember that technology celebration is tomorrow and you can bring your own technology to use from 11:00-11:45!
It was so nice to get the opportunity to visit with some of the parents of these AMAZING 5th graders the last two days, and am looking forward to having the opportunity to visit with the rest tonight!
For $20 tomorrow, tell me the next holiday that falls on November 11th......
