Wacky Tacky Thursday

This morning we discussed some activities that we are going to try and do during the month of December and I will inform everyone of the final outcome once I get answers : )!  Mrs. Neese came into our classroom this morning and her lesson was on bullying.  For reading, we continued reading our story this week out of the theme reader .  We read about the Boston Massacre, how the American Revolution began, and how the Declaration of the Independence came about.  In small group, each group is reading about a different Native American tribe. The Colts are reading about the Blackfoot, the Packers about the Mohawk, the Vikings about the Cherokee, and the Bears about the Miwok.  Since reading aligns with our social studies curriculum, we used our social studies time to spend more time in small group discussion.  Tomorrow we will start our inquiry projects in our groups which we will be working on every Friday and present at the end of the Unit (each unit is 4 weeks).  In math, we did practice with dividing decimals on white boards and then did 6 problems independently for a grade.

This afternoon, Lainey used her coupon for "Show and Tell" and her mom brought her Guinea pig for her to show.  Her Guinea pig's name Rusty because he is a rusty color.

For $50 tomorrow, tell me the name of the Native American tribe you are reading about in small group.....
