Wacky Wednesday

I have to start off by saying I have the most thoughtful and genuine bunch of kiddos!  We started our morning off by tying a blanket to give to Makiah along with making her cards.  This was their idea and each had a part in tying the blanket.  I am then going to go get it embroidered with a mustache and her name.  I know see is going to love it and will feel the love each student put into it!

In reading today, we had another great discussion!  We discussed that Native American beliefs helped shape America, by valuing the land, by not believing in waste, helping settlers, and some had systems of laws and banded together. Some reasons for the European settlers' coming to America were to seek freedom or religion and they wanted a place to start a new business or learn a new trade.  We practiced comparing and contrasting using a venn diagram and practiced with possessive/proper nouns.  There was also great discussion in small group! So proud of these amazing 5th graders and I love all their background knowledge!  In math we continued with dividing decimals with whole numbers and will continue with it again tomorrow.  Remember to bring the decimal up from the dividend into the quotient and when we check by multiplying we don't align the decimals, but the numbers and count how many numbers are behind the decimals!!

For $50 tomorrow,  name 1 artifact and 1 resource we have here in Montana......
